Abstract： Objective： To observe the curative effect of point application combined with bifidobacterium triple viable capsules for chronic diarrhea. Methods：A total of 300 cases of patients with chronic diarrhea were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 150 cases in each group. The control group was treated with bifidobacterium triple viable capsules，and the observation group was treated with point application combined with bifidobacterium triple viable capsules. Both groups were treated for four weeks. The changes in remission time of clinical symptoms， and levels of interleukin- 6(IL- 6) interferon- γ(IFN- γ)， tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α)，immunoglobulin A(IgA)，immunoglobulin M(IgM) and immunoglobulin G(IgG) in serum before and after treatment and the clinical effects in the two groups were compared. During treatment，the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups was observed. Results：The total effective rate of clinical effect was 95.33% in the observation group and 88.00% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The time of stool decrease， the improvement time of stool traits，the disappearance time of abdominal distention and abdominal pain in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of IL-6，IFN-γ and TNF-α in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the above three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of IgA，IgM and IgG in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the above three levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). During treatment， there was no serious adverse reactions in the two groups. Conclusion：Point application combined with bifidobacterium triple viable capsules for chronic diarrhea has a significant curative effect，and can effectively shorten the time for stool frequency and character to return to normal，alleviate diarrhea symptoms，reduce inflammatory reaction and improve immunity.
