Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of modified Bushen Huoxue tang on pain and sleep efficiency in patients after surgery for proximal femur fracture. Methods: A total of 120 cases of patients after surgery for proximal femur fracture were randomly divided into the combination group and the control group,with 60 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with surgery,and the combination group was treated with modified Bushen Huoxue tang after surgery. Clinical effects,pain degree,sleep quality and the contents of alkaline phosphatase(ALP), bone morphogenetic protein 2(BMP- 2) and osteocalcin (BGP) in serum in the two groups were compared. Results: The total effective rate was 96.67% in the combination group,higher than that of 83.33% in the control group(P<0.05). One and three months after treatment,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) scores of pain and sleep quality in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the contents of ALP, BMP- 2 and BGP in serum were increased(P<0.05); VAS score and sleep quality in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the contents of ALP,BMP-2 and BGP in serum were higher(P< 0.05). Conclusion:Modified Bushen Huoxue tang for patients after surgery for proximal femur fracture has a significant curative effect, which can reduce the pain degree, and improve the sleep quality and the contents of osteogenic bioactivity index in serum.
