Clinical Study on Modified Jinshui Liujun Decoction for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at Acute Stage of Qi Deficiency and Phlegm Obstruction Type in Senile Patients
Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of modified Jinshui Liujun decoction on senile patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) at acute stage of qi deficiency and phlegm obstruction type, and its effects on lung function and inflammatory factors. Methods:A total of 85 COPD patients at acute stage of qi deficiency and phlegm obstruction type were randomly divided into two groups. Forty five cases in the control group were treated with budesonide and ipratropium bromide, and forty cases in the observation group were treated with modified Jinshui Liujun decoction. The treatment lasted for eight weeks. The clinical effect, serum levels of procalcitonin(PCT), interleukin- 6(IL- 6), interleukin- 8 (IL- 8), forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1), percentage of forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1% ) and forced vital capacity(FVC) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:Compared with those in the same group before treatment, the levels of serum PCT, IL-6 and IL-8 in both groups were decreased after treatment(P<0.05). Compared with those in the control group after treatment, the serum levels of PCT,IL-6 and IL-8 in the observation group were lower after treatment(P<0.05). Compared with those in the same group before treatment, the levels of FEV1,FEV1% and FVC in both groups were increased after treatment(P<0.05). Compared with those in the control group, the levels of FEV1,FEV1% and FVC in the observation group were higher after treatment(P<0.05). The total effective rate was 75.56% in the control group, lower than that of 92.50% in the observation group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified Jinshui Liujun decoction has a significant therapeutic effect on elderly COPD patients at acute stage of qi deficiency and phlegm obstruction type, which can improve lung function and reduce the levels of inflammatory factors.
