Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of modified Poge Jiuxin tang on chronic heart failure (CHF) and its effect on echocardiography, and levels of serum N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NTproBNP), and interleukin-6(IL-6). Methods:A total of 131 CHF patients with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 66 and 65 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given routine symptomatic treatment, and the observation group was additionally given modified Poge Jiuxin tang based on the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment, the Chinese medicine syndrome scores,Six-Minute Walk Test,Lee's heart failure scores, scores of Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 (GQOLI-74),levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IL-6,and NT-proBNP,and echocardiographic indexes, including left ventricular end- diastolic diameter(LVEDd), left ventricular end- systolic diameter (LVESd),and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),were compared between the two groups. The clinical effects and adverse reactions in the two groups were evaluated. Results: The total effective rate was 90.91% in the observation group, higher than that of 76.92% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the Chinese medicine syndrome scores, Lee's heart failure scores, and levels of NTproBNP, IL-6,and TNF-α in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the decrease in the observation group was greater than that in the control group(P<0.05). after treatment, the levels of LVEDd and LVESd in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), the levels of LVEF were increased, and the improvements in echocardiography indexes in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the six- minute walking distance and scores of GQOLI- 74 in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the improvements in the above indexes in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of modified Poge Jiuxin tang has a definite clinical effect on CHF,which can improve the heart function, reduce the inflammatory responses, and improve the quality of life of patients.
