Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Pingchuan tang combined with oxygen- driven atomization inhalation for acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma in children. Methods:A total of 60 cases of children with bronchial asthma at acute exacerbation were divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with oxygen- driven atomization inhalation, and the treatment group was additionally treated with Pingchuan tang based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects, the disappearance time of symptoms and the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment, the indexes of lung function and Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate was 93.33% in the treatment group, higher than that of 76.67% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of forced vital capacity(FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1) and peak expiratory flow(PEF) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above indexes in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the Chinese medicine syndrome scores of cough, gasp, laryngeal wheezing and expectoration in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the Chinese medicine syndrome score and the disappearance time of symptoms including cough, gasp, dyspnea and pulmonary wheezing in the treatment group were lower and shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Pingchuan tang combined with oxygen- driven atomization inhalation for acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma in children has a definite curative effect, and can effectively improve clinical symptoms and lung function with high safety.
