Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid combined with cefuroxime sodium for acute suppurative tonsillitis in children and its control effect on inflammation. Methods:A total of 80 cases of children with acute suppurative tonsillitis were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given intravenous infusion of cefuroxime sodium and normal saline, and the observation group was additionally given Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for one week. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared;the changes in the levels of serum inflammatory factors including white blood cell count(WBC), serum C- reactive protein(CRP) and procalcitonin(PCT) before and after treatment in the two groups were compared; the regression time of clinical symptoms after treatment in the two groups was compared. Results:The total effective rate of clinical effect was 95.00% in the observation group and 80.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of WBC,CRP and PCT in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the above three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P< 0.05). After treatment, the regression time of antiadoncus, purulent secretion, pharyngalgia and fever in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid combined with cefuroxime sodium for acute suppurative tonsillitis in children has a significant curative effect, and can reduce the levels of serum inflammatory factors, control inflammation and promote the regression of acute suppurative tonsillitis.
