Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of compound Bazhen tang on oral peri- implantitis and its effect on levels of inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid. Methods：A total of 60 patients with oral peri- implantitis were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group， with 31 and 29 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with routine western medicine， and the observation group was additionally treated with compound Bazhen tang based on the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment， the Chinese medicine syndrome scores， inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid， including interleukin- 8(IL- 8)， interleukin- 6(IL- 6) and interleukin- 1β (IL- 1β)， and related indexes of periodontology， including sulcus bleeding index(SBI)， plaque index(PLI) and pocket depth(PD)， were compared between the two groups， and the clinical effects and adverse reactions in the two groups were evaluated. Results： The total effective rate was 93.55% in the observation group，higher than that of 72.41% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the Chinese medicine syndrome scores and levels of SBI，PLI，PD，and IL-8，IL-6，and IL-1β in gingival crevicular fluid in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the above indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of compound Bazhen tang has a positive curative effect on oral peri-implantitis，which can significantly reduce the inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid，inhibit the growth of dental plaque and improve the symptom of bleeding，with good safety.
