Abstract：Objective：To observe the effect of Chuangbai Zhiyang lotion for pruritus in uremia patient underwent hemodialysis. Methods： A total of 112 cases of patients with pruritus and uremia underwent hemodialysis were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method， with 55 and 57 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with standardized treatment scheme of western medicine， and the observation group was additionally given Chuangbai Zhiyang lotion based on the treatment of control group. The degree of pruritus and systemic inflammatory responses were compared between the two groups. Results： Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and pruritus between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，scores of pruritus in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， VAS score in the observation group was lower than that before treatment and that in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs- CRP) and interleukin- 2(IL- 2) in serum between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment， levels of hs-CRP and IL-2 in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the two levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The usage rates of oral administration with antihistamines and steroid ointment in the observation group were lower than those in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Chuangbai Zhiyang lotion can relieve the degree of pruritus and systemic inflammatory responses of uremia patients underwent hemodialysis.
