Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of point application for insomnia of dual deficiency of the heart-spleen type. Methods:A total of 86 cases of patients with insomnia of dual deficiency of the heart-spleen type were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with diazepam, and the study group was additionally treated with point application based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated. Before and after treatment, the levels of brain- derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) in serum and the sleep quality in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate was 90.70% in the study group, higher than that of 74.42% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of BDNF levels in serum between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the BDNF levels in serum in the two groups were higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the BDNF level in serum in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of each item and the total scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of each item and the total scores of PSQI in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05), and the scores of each item and the total score of PSQI in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Point application can regulate the BDNF levels in serum in patients with insomnia of dual deficiency of the heart- spleen type, improve their sleep quality and increase the curative effect.
