Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Qingwei Sanhuo tang for pain after root canal retreatment. Methods:A total of 86 cases of patients with dental pulp disease and apical periodontitis were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. Both groups were given root canal retreatment;the control group was treated with routine western medicine after surgery, and the observation group was additionally treated with Qingwei Sanhuo tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for seven days. Chinese medicine syndrome scores,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) scores and the incidence of complications in the two groups were compared. Results: On the 7th day after surgery, Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before preoperative(P<0.05),and the Chinese medicine syndrome score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). On the 7th day after surgery, VAS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before preoperative(P<0.05),and the VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of complications was 2.33% in the observation group, lower than that of 13.95% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Qingwei Sanhuo tang can relieve pain in patients after root canal retreatment, relieve clinical symptoms and reduce the incidence of complications.
