Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Shenling Baizhu powder combined with bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablets on infantile anorexia of spleen- stomach qi deficiency type. Methods：A total of 84 patients with infantile anorexia of spleen-stomach qi deficiency type were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method，with 42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablets， and the study group was additionally treated with Shenling Baizhu powder based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks. The clinical effects，scores of appetite and food intake and levels of zinc and hemoglobin(Hb) were compared between the two groups. The body weight and its increase in the two groups were compared after six months of follow-up，and the adverse reactions in the two groups were recorded. Results： The total effective rate was 95.24% in the study group， higher than that of 80.95% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of appetite and food intake in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above two scores in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of zinc and Hb in the two groups were higher than those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the levels of zinc and Hb in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). During six months of follow- up， the body weight and increase of body weight in the study group were more than those in the control group (P＜0.05). During treatment， no obvious adverse reactions were found in both groups. Conclusion： The therapy of Shenling Baizhu powder combined with bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablets can effectively improve the appetite and food intake of patients with infantile anorexia of spleen-stomach qi deficiency type and increase the body weight，with high safety.
