Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of midnight- midday ebb flow acupuncture combined with whole body vibration therapy on unilateral neglect after stroke. Methods: A total of 86 patients with unilateral neglect after stroke were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with whole body vibration therapy, and the observation group was additionally treated with midnight- midday ebb flow acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for six weeks. Before and after treatment, the degrees of unilateral neglect, balance function, cognitive function, activities of daily living and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the scores of line bisection test,Catherine Bergego Scale(CBS) and line cancellation test in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above three scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Berg balance scale(BBS),Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE),Modified Barthel Index(MBI) and Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale(SS- QOL) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above four scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of midnight- midday ebb flow acupuncture combined with whole body vibration therapy for unilateral neglect after stroke can effectively reduce the clinical symptoms, improve the balance and cognitive function of patients, and enhance their activities of daily living and quality of life.
