Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Buzhong Yiqi tang combined with Seretide for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). Methods：A total of 98 cases of COPD patients were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method ， with 49 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Seretide， and the observation group was treated with Buzhong Yiqi tang combined with Seretide. Chinese medicine syndrome scores， levels of interleukin- 17(IL- 17)，interleukin- 10(IL- 10) and interleukin- 23(IL- 23)，the forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1)，the ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC)， and the percentage of predicted value of FEV1(FEV1%) before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. The disappearance time of symptoms and total effective rates were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 95.92% in the observation group， higher than that of 81.63% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， each Chinese medicine syndrome score and the total score，as well as the levels of IL- 17 and IL- 23 in the two groups were decreased when compared with those in the same group before treatment(P＜0.05)，and IL-10 levels，FEV1，FEV1/FVC，and FEV1% were increased(P＜0.05). After treatment，each Chinese medicine syndrome score and the total score，as well as the levels of IL- 17 and IL-23 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05)，and IL-10 level，FEV1，FEV1/FVC，and FEV1% were higher(P＜0.05). The recovery time of whit blood cell count and the disappearance time of symptoms in the observation group were shorter than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Buzhong Yiqi tang combined with Seretide has a relatively good clinical effect in the treatment of COPD，which can improve clinical symptoms，shorten the disappearance time of symptoms，and has positive significance in improving the level of inflammatory factors and the lung function.
