Methods:A total of 74 cases of children with persistent diarrhea were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 37 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the observation group was treated with Jianpi Wenshen Zhixie tang and routine western medicine. Clinical effects were evaluated in the two groups. Chinese medicine syndrome scores and the time for stool frequency and character to return to normal were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:The total clinical effective rate were 94.59% in the observation group, better than that of 78.38% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of watery stool, physical cold, and lassitude of spirit and fatigue between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, scores of watery stool, physical cold, and lassitude of spirit and fatigue in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the decrease in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05). The time for stool frequency and character to return to normal in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Jianpi Wenshen Zhixie tang combined with routine western medicine has a defined curative effect in the treatment of children with persistent diarrhea, and can obviously relieve symptoms and shortened treatment period.
