Clinical Study on Acupuncture at Ganglion Sphenopalatinum Under Du's Gold Needle Technique Combined with Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray for Allergic Rhinitis
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture at ganglion sphenopalatinum under Du's gold needle technique combined with mometasone furoate nasal spray for allergic rhinitis(AR). Methods:A total of 80 cases of AR patients were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with mometasone furoate nasal spray, and the observation group was additionally treated with acupuncture at ganglion sphenopalatinum under Du's gold needle technique based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects and the incidences of adverse reactions in the two groups were observed. Before and after treatment, the changes in scores of Total Nasal Symptom Score(TNSS),Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire(RQLQ) and Visual Analogue Scale of pain(VAS), and scores of immunoglobulin E(IgE), peripheral blood eosinophils(EOS) and substance P(SP) in serum in the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate of clinical effect was 97.50% in the observation group and 85.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the symptom scores, the total scores and the sign scores in TNSS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the symptom scores, the total score and the sign scores in TNSS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores and the total scores in RQLQ in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the scores and the total score in RQLQ in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the VAS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of IgE, EOS and SP in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the above three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). During treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was 5.00% in the observation group and 20.00% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture at ganglion sphenopalatinum under Du's gold needle technique combined with mometasone furoate nasal spray can effectively promote the recovery of AR patients and inhibit inflammatory responses, which can significantly relieve pain and improve quality of life with higher medication safety.
