Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Yangxin tang combined with western medicine on children with viral myocarditis(VMC) in convalescence and its effects on their heart function. Methods:A total of 50 cases of VMC children were assigned to the observation group and the control group by random number table method, with 25 cases in each group. The control group was treated with symptomatic treatment with western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Yangxin tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were continuously treated for two weeks. Clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated;Chinese medicine syndrome scores and heart function indexes were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate was 88.00% in the observation group, higher than that of 64.00% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, ejection fraction(EF), cardiac output(CO) and stroke volume(SV) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the three indexes in the observation group were larger than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified Yangxin tang combined with western medicine has a definite curative effect in the treatment of VMC children in convalescence, which can help relieve their clinical symptoms and improve heart function.
