Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Qingnian Zhitong Yin for discomfort symptoms in the respiratory tract of patients after general anesthesia with intubation. Methods:A total of 120 cases of patients who had discomfort symptoms in the respiratory tract after general anesthesia with intubation were randomly divided into the routine treatment group and the Qingnian Zhitong group, with 60 cases in each group. The routine treatment group was given symptomatic support and infection- prevention treatment, and the Qingnian Zhitong group was additionally treated with Qingnian Zhitong Yin based on the treatment of the routine treatment group; both groups were treated for two weeks. The disappearance time of discomfort symptoms in the respiratory tract, the total effective rate of pulmonary infection treatment and the occurrence of adverse reactions were observed and compared in the two groups after operation, and the scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Bruggrmann Comfort Scale(BCS) on the day after operation, and one week and two weeks after the operation were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the disappearance time of discomfort symptoms such as cough, hoarseness, dyspnea and dysphagia in the Qingnian Zhitong group was shorter than that in the routine treatment group(P<0.05). The VAS scores one week and two weeks after the operation in the two groups were decreased when compared with those in the same group on the day after operation(P<0.05), and BCS scores were increased(P<0.05). The VAS scores one week and two weeks after the operation in the Qingnian Zhitong group were lower than those in the routine treatment group at the same time(P<0.05), and BCS scores were high(P<0.05). The total effective rate of pulmonary infection treatment was 75.00% in the routine treatment group, lower than that of 88.33% in the Qingnian Zhitong group, there being no statistically significance in the difference(χ2=3.562,P=0.059). There were no medicine- related adverse reactions and allergic reactions occurred in both groups during the treatment. Conclusion: Qingnian Zhitong Yin has effects in alleviating the discomfort symptoms in the respiratory tract such as cough, hoarseness, dyspnea, and dysphagia caused by anesthesia with intubation, reducing postoperative pulmonary infection and other complications, alleviating patient's pain, and promoting postoperative recovery, without any increase in adverse reactions.
