Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of modified Puji Xiaodu Yin combined with Dextromethorphan-Chlorpheniramine-Pseudoephedrine Solution for wind-heat cold in Lingnan area and its prevention effect of post-infection cough(PIC). Methods：A total of 140 cases of patients with wind-heat cold were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 70 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Dextromethorphan- Chlorpheniramine- Pseudoephedrine Solution， and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Puji Xiaodu Yin based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three to seven days. Symptom scores and clinical effects were compared between the two groups. The incidences of PIC and adverse reactions in the two groups were recorded. Results： On the 3rd， 5th and 7th day of treatment， the effective rates in the observation group were 35.71% ， 88.57% and 100% respectively， which were higher than those of 2.86%，32.86% and 80.00% in the control group in the same period(P＜ 0.05). On the 3rd，5th and 7th day of treatment，the total symptom scores of cold，throat and cough in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). During the three-week follow-up， the incidence of PIC was 7.14% in the observation group，lower than that of 25.71% in the control group (P＜0.05). No adverse reaction occurred in both groups. Conclusion： Modified Puji Xiaodu Yin combined with Dextromethorphan- Chlorpheniramine- Pseudoephedrine Solution for wind- heat cold in Lingnan area can improve clinical symptoms of patients and effectively prevent PIC with good safety.
