Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Baotailing Pills combined with western medicine for habitual abortion and its effect on reproductive hormone levels in serum. Methods：A total of 162 cases of patients with habitual abortion were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method，with 81 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine， including dydrogestrone Tablets， Nadroparin Calcium Injection and Progesterone Injection，and the treatment group was additionally treated with Baotailing Pills based on the treatment of the control group. The levels of serum reproductive hormones including estradiol(E2)，human chorionic gonadotropin β(β- HCG) and progesterone(P)， immune indexes including interferon- γ(IFN- γ) and Interleukin-4(IL-4) before and after treatment，as well as the successful rat of pregnancy，the clinical effects and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 98.77% in the treatment group and 91.36% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜ 0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of E2， β- hCG and P in serum between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，the levels of the above serum reproductive hormones in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and each index in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P＜ 0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of IFN- γ and IL-4 between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the levels of IFN- γ in the two groups were decreased(P＜0.05)， and IL- 4 levels were increased(P＜0.05)； IFN- γ level in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05)，and IL-4 level was higher(P＜0.05). During the four-month follow- up after treatment， the successful rate of pregnancy was 97.53% in the treatment group and 87.65% in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). During treatment， the incidence of adverse reactions was 4.94% in the treatment group and 8.64% in the control group， there being no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). Conclusion：Baotailing Pills assisting western medicine for habitual abortion have a significant curative effect，which can effectively improve the immune function of patients， levels of reproductive hormones in the body，and the pregnancy rate，with relatively few adverse reactions.
