Abstract：Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors of digestive tract，prone to distant metastasis of liver，lung and bone. Chinese medicine has become one of the important methods for the comprehensive treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer due to its advantages of multiple targets， multiple approaches and less side effects. Its mechanism is related to the regulation of tumor stem cell growth， epithelial- mesenchymal transition， tumor angiogenesis， protective autophagy of tumor cells， nest apoptosis， tumor- associated macrophages and intestinal microbiota. The authors reviews the research progress of the effective components of Chinese herbs in inhibiting colorectal cancer metastasis， which provides a new idea for the treatment of colorectal cancer metastasis by Chinese medicine.
