Clinical Study on Huolong Cupping Combined with Needle Embedment in Point with Method of Xingnao Kaiqiao for Shoulder-Hand Syndrome After Ischemic Stroke
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Huolong cupping combined with needle embedment in point with the method of Xingnao Kaiqiao on shoulder-hand syndrome after ischemic stroke. Methods:A total of 62 patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after ischemic stroke were selected and divided into the combination group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 31 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine treatment and needle embedment in point with the method of Xingnao Kaiqiao, and the combination group was additionally treated with Huolong cupping based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Before and after treatment, the changes of degree of pain of affected limbs, degree of swelling, scores of Fugl- Meyer Assessment(FMA) for upper extremity, muscle strength and scores of Shoulder-Hand Syndrome Scale(SHSS) were compared between the two groups. The clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the scores of pain and degree of swelling were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the scores of FMA were increased, differences being significant(P<0.05); after treatment, the score of pain and degree of swelling in the combination group were lower than those in the control group, and the score of FMA in the combination group was higher, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the muscle strength of affected limbs in the two groups was improved when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the improvement in the muscle strength of affected limbs in the combination group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of motion, sensation and autonomic nerve and total scores of SHSS of affected side in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the above four scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The clinical effect was 96.77% in the combination group and 77.42% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Huolong cupping combined with needle embedment in point with the method of Xingnao Kaiqiao for shoulder- hand syndrome after ischemic stroke can significantly improve the symptoms of pain, swelling, decrease of muscle strength and limited motion of affected limes of patients and enhance the clinical effect.
