Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Sangbaipi Decoction for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD) and its effect on lung function and levels of Fractional exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO). Methods:A total of 90 cases of AECOPD patients were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine anti- infection therapy, and the observation group was additionally treated with Sangbaipi Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment, the indexes of lung function, the levels of high- sensitivity C- reactive protein(hs- CRP), tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) and FeNO in serum, and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndrome scores were compared between the two groups. Results:Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to predicted value(FEV1/pre), the ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC) and FeNO levels between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment,FEV1/pre and FEV1/FVC in the two groups were increased(P<0.05),and FeNO levels were decreased(P<0.05);FEV1/pre and FEV1/FVC in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05), and FeNO levels was lower(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of hs-CRP and TNF-α in serum between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of hs-CRP and TNF- α in serum in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of TCM syndrome scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased(P<0.05),and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate was 93.33% in the observation group, higher than that of 80.00% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Sangbaipi Decoction for AECOPD patients can effectively reduce levels of inflammatory factors and FeNO,and improve their lung function.
