Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of Qingre Sanjie Capsules combined with intense pulsed light for severe acne. Methods：A total of 100 cases of patients with severe acne were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with intense pulsed light，and the observation group was additionally treated with Qingre Sanjie Capsules based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 3 courses， with one month being a course. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment，the changes in differential values of skin lesions and scores of quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results：After 3 courses of treatment， the total effective rate of clinical effect was 94.00% in the observation group and 72.00% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). The differential values of skin lesions including pimples， acne and nodule in the observation group were higher than those in the control group，differences being significant (P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of quality of life including psychology， physiology， learning and working， social entertainment， exercise， daily life， family， dressing， sexual life and treatment as well as the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion：Qingre Sanjie Capsules combined with intense pulsed light has a definitive curative effect in treating severe acne，and can effectively improve skin conditions and quality of life of patients.
