Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of sit-baths with Guo's Kubai Formula on patients after surgery for anal fistula and its effect on the wound. Methods：A total of 120 patients with low simple anal fistula were randomly divided into two groups，with 60 patients in each group. The control group was given hip bath with potassium permanganate solution， and the study group was given hip bath with decoction of Guo's Kubai Formula. The treatment course of the two groups was 3 weeks. The clinical effects， scores of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)， wound clinical indexes scores， granulation scores， wound healing rates， the wound capillaries number and the levels of wound vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF) were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 95.0% in the study group，and 75.0% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). At 3 days，7 days， and 21 days after the surgery，the wound pain，wound clinical indexes and wound granulation scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group ， the difference being significant (P＜0.05). At 7 days， 14 days， and 21 days after the surgery， the wound healing rate in the study group was higher than that in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). At 7 days and 21 days after the surgery， the number of capillaries in the study group was larger than that in the control group， the difference being significant (P＜0.05). At 7 and 14 days after the surgery，the positive intensity of VEGF in the wound in the study group was higher than that in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜ 0.05). Conclusion：The application of hip bath with Guo's Kubai Formula can improve the curative effect on recovering the wound of patients after surgery for anal fistula，reduce their pain，and promote the wound healing.
