Abstract:Objective:To observe the curative effect of Bushen Yizhi Prescription combined with routine western medicine for Alzheimer disease (AD) and its effect on cognitive function. Methods : A total of 62 cases of AD patients were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,with 31 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with Bushen Yizhi Prescription based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated. Before and after treatment, the levels of cognitive function, activities of daily living and oxidative stress in the two groups were compared. The incidence of adverse reactions was observed. Results:The total effective rate was 90.32% in the observation group,higher than that of 67.74% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Mini- Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) were higher than those before treatment, and the scores of Alzheimer Disease Assessment Scale-Cognitive (ADAS-Cog) were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05);the scores of MMSE and ADL in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the score of ADAS- cog was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH- Px) in the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05);the levels of SOD and GSH- Px in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the MDA level was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 6.45% in the observation group,lower than that of 25.81% in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of modified Bushen Yizhi Prescription combined with routine western medicine for AD patients is beneficial to improve the clinical effect, dementia degree, oxidative stress reaction, cognitive function and self-care ability,and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
