Clinical Study on Yiqi Wenyang and Tongqiao Pingchuan Prescriptions Combined with Routine Western Medicine for Combined Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma Syndrome
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Wenyang and Tongqiao Pingchuan Prescription combined with routine western medicine for combined allergic rhinitis and asthma syndrome. Methods: A total of 104 cases of patients with combined allergic rhinitis and asthma syndrome were selected as the study objects and divided into the observation group and the control group, with 52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with symptomatic treatment of western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with Yiqi Wenyang and Tongqiao Pingchuan Prescriptions based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, the levels of airway inflammatory factors and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate was 94.2% in the observation group, higher than that of 73.1% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of dyspnea and expectoration, cough and shortness of breath, fatigue and lack of strength, nasal congestion, sneeze, and clear nasal discharge in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and interferon-γ (IFN-γ) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, and the levels of interleukin- 4 (IL- 4), interleukin- 6 (IL- 6) and C- reactive protein (CRP) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the levels of IL- 2 and IFN- γ in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the levels of IL-4,IL-6 and CRP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Yiqi Wenyang and Tongqiao Pingchuan Prescriptions combined with routine western medicine has a good effect in treating combined allergic rhinitis and asthma syndrome, and can conduce to the improvement of clinical symptoms and the remission of airway inflammation, with high safety.
