Abstract: Objective: To observe the calculi- discharge effect of Sanjin Paishi Decoction assisting ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy on ureteral calculi. Methods: A total of 115 patients with ureteral calculi were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 58 and 57 cases in each group. After treatment, the discharge effects of calculi, levels of inflammatory factors, including tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α) and C- reactive protein (CRP),levels of stress reactions, including superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) and complications in both groups were observed. Results:The residual rate of calculi was 5.17% in the treatment group, lower than that of 19.30% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05);the complete discharge rate of calculi was 94.83% in the treatment group, higher than that of 80.70% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). The complete discharge time of calculi in the treatment group was obviously shorter than that in the control group, and the VAS scores were significantly lower than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparisons of levels of TNF-α and CRP between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of TNF- α and CRP in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the CRP levels were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the TNF-α level in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P< 0.05),the CRP level was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparisons of levels of SOD and CAT between the two groups (P> 0.05);after treatment, the levels of SOD and CAT in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above two levels in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of complications was 3.45% in the treatment group, lower than that of 15.79% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy combined with Sanjin Paishi Decoction for ureteral calculi can help improve the complete discharge rate of calculi, shorten the complete discharge time of calculi, mitigate the pain and inflammatory responses of the body, reduce the stress reactions and decrease the incidence of complications.
