Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of the therapy of modified Ziyin Zhike Prescription combined with Fluticasone Propionate Inhalation on children with chronic cough. Methods ： A total of 62 children with chronic cough with Yin deficiency and lung heat syndrome were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to random number table method， with 31 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Fluticasone Propionate Inhalation，and the treatment group was additionally treated with modified Ziyin Zhike Prescription based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. The changes in serum levels of immunoglobulin E (IgE)，the levels of eosinophil count (EOS)，the total scores of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes and the levels of lung function indexes，including forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1)，peak expiratory flow (PEF)，forced vital capacity (FVC) and FEV1/ FVC were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 77.42% in the control group，which was lower than that in the treatment group 96.77%(P＜0.05). After treatment， the IgE and EOS levels and the total scores of TCM syndromes in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)； the above 3 indexes in the treatment group were lower when compared with control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of FEV1，PEF， FVC and FEV1/FVC in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜ 0.05)，and the levels of above 4 indexes in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The incidence of side reactions was no significant difference between the control group and the treatment group (P＞0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of modified Ziyin Zhike Prescription combined with Fluticasone Propionate Inhalation can improve the immune function and lung function，and relieve clinical symptoms of children with chronic cough.
