Clinical Study on Biyuanshu Decoction Combined with Cetirizine Hydrochloride Drops for Allergic Rhinitis in Children with Wind-Heat Invading the Lung Syndrome
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Biyuanshu Decoction combined with Cetirizine Hydrochloride Drops for allergic rhinitis (AR) in children with wind- heat invading the lung syndrome. Methods:A total of 90 cases of AR children with wind-heat invading the lung syndrome were divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method,with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Cetirizine Hydrochloride Drops, and the treatment group was additionally treated with Biyuanshu Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 2 weeks. The scores of symptoms and signs and the levels of interleukin- 5 (IL- 5), interleukin- 6 (IL- 6) and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule- 1 (sICAM- 1) in serum before and after treatment, as well as the clinical effects and the remission time of clinical symptoms were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment,the total effective rate of clinical effect was 95.56% in the treatment group, higher than that of 82.22% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of symptoms and signs in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),the score of symptoms and signs in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The remission time of nasal obstruction,nasal itching,runny nose,and sneezing in the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of IL-5,IL-8 and sICAM-1 in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of IL- 5, IL- 8 and sICAM- 1 in serum in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Biyuanshu Decoction combined with Cetirizine Hydrochloride Drops has a definite curative effect in treating AR children with wind-heat invading the lung syndrome,which can promote the improvement of clinical symptoms and signs in children,and effectively relieve inflammatory responses.
