Abstract： This paper introduces the clinical experience of Professor WANG Xinzhi in syndrome differentiation and treatment of stroke with tongue inspection. Professor WANG believes that the diseaselocation of stroke lies in the brain，and the tongue is closely related to the spleen，stomach，and brain；he also considers that the use of tongue inspection is of great significance for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of stroke. In clinical practice， with the consideration of tongue body， tough coating， tongue motility， tongue color， sublingual vein， and tongue inspection， the train of thought of syndrome differentiation was summed up，namely to give priority to tongue inspection among the four examinations， to take the tongue as a reference for the syndrome differentiation and treatment，and to value the assisted method with tongue inspection. Tongue inspection should be used flexibly to judge the exuberance and decline of healthy qi in the body and the depth of pathogen location， and predict the progression， outcome，and prognosis of stroke.
