Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Compound Danshen Dripping Pills on unstable angina pectoris of coronary heart disease and its influence on blood lipid levels and the heart function of patients. Methods: A total of 70 patients with unstable angina pectoris of coronary heart disease were randomly divided into the conventional group and the combination group. The conventional group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the combination group was additionally treated with Compound Danshen Dripping Pills based on the conventional treatment. Both groups were treated for two courses. The heart function and blood lipid levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment, and the clinical effects and adverse reactions were also compared. Results:The total effective rate was 94.29% in the combination group, higher than that of 77.14% in the conventional group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end- diastolic diameter (LVEDD), and the ratio of left atrioventricular peak blood flow in early diastolic period to late diastolic period (E/A) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of LVEF and E/A were increased (P<0.05),and the LVEDD levels were decreased (P<0.05);the levels of LVEF and E/A in the combination group were higher than those in the conventional group (P<0.05),and the LVEDD level was lower than that in the conventional group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of triglyceride (TG),low- density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL- C),total cholesterol (TC) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of TG, LDL- C and TC were decreased (P<0.05), and the HDL- C level was increased (P<0.05);the levels of TG,LDL-C and TC in the combination group were lower than those in the conventional group (P<0.05),and the HDL-C level was higher than that in the conventional group (P< 0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions was 11.43% in the conventional group and 14.29% in the combination group, there being no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Compound Danshen Dripping Pills combined with conventional western medicine can improve the clinical effect on patients with unstable angina pectoris of coronary heart disease. It could enhance the heart function, and reduce the blood lipid levels without increasing adverse reactions.
