Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of Qingxin Kaiqiao Prescription assisting treatment for mild-to-moderate Alzheimer disease and its effect on apoptosis factors. Methods：A total of 90 cases of patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer disease were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets，and the observation group was additionally treated with Qingxin Kaiqiao Prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 8 weeks. The clinical effects，cognitive function，apoptosis factors，and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 93.33% in the observation group，higher than that of 73.33% in the control group (P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment，the scores of MoCA and MMSE in the observation group were higher than those before treatment and those in the control group (P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of Bax，Bcl-2 and cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase-3 (Caspase-3) between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment， the levels of Bax and Caspase- 3 in the observation group were lower than those before treatment and those in the control group (P＜0.05)， and Bcl- 2 level was higher than that before treatment and that in the control group (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion： Qingxin Kaiqiao Prescription has a good effect in assisting treatment for mild- to- moderate Alzheimer disease， which can significantly improve cognitive function， and inhibit neural cells apoptosis with good safety.
