Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of Huoxue Jiedu Decoction on indexes of isokinetic muscle strength and levels of bone metabolism of patients with ankle fracture after open reduction and internal fixation. Methods:A total of 115 patients with ankle fracture after open reduction and internal fixation were selected as the study objects and divided into the control group and the observation group, with 57 and 58 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given routine western medicine for antiinflammation and anti- infection, and the observation group was additionally treated with Huoxue Jiedu Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The levels of bone metabolism, indexes of isokinetic muscle strength,levels of inflammatory factors and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the levels of serum bone alkaline phosphatase (BALP),osteocalcin (BGP) and typeⅠintact N-terminal propeptide (PⅠNP) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above three levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the torque acceleration energy (TAE), peak torque/body weight (PI/BW) and endurance (ER) level of dorsalis, toe flexion, varus and valgus in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α),C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-1 (IL-1) in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of complications between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Huoxue Jiedu Decoction has a definite curative effect on patients with ankle fracture after open reduction and internal fixation,which can effectively improve the levels of bone metabolism of patients,enhance the indexes of isokinetic muscle strength,and decrease the levels of inflammatory factors.
