Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Xiao'er Kechuanling Granules combined with Azithromycin for bronchopneumonia in children. Methods: A total of 98 cases of children with bronchopneumonia were divided into the single group and the combination group according to the random number table method, with 49 cases in each group. The single group was treated with Azithromycin, and the combination group was additionally treated with Xiao'er Kechuanling Granules based on the treatment of the single group. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment, the levels of inflammatory factors and lung function indexes in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate of treatment was 91.84% in the combination group, higher than that of 71.43% in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of interleukin- 6 (IL- 6), procalcitonin (PCT), and C- reactive protein (CRP) in serum between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of IL-6,PCT,and CRP in serum in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05),and the levels in the combination group were lower than those in the single group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of peak expiratory flow (PEF),forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and forced vital capacity (FVC) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of PEF, FEV1, and FVC in the two groups were increased (P<0.05),and the levels in the combination group were higher than those in the single group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Xiao'er Kechuanling Granules combined with Azithromycin for bronchopneumonia in children has a significant curative effect, which can effectively reduce the levels of inflammatory factors, promote the absorption of lung inflammation and restore the lung function.
