Abstract： Buccal acupuncture is a new painless acupuncture therapy created by Professor WANG Yongzhou，with holographies，the theory of the greater triple energizers，and psychosomatics as its three major theories. The therapy has the characteristics of standardized point selection， clear targets， and simple operation. Holographies can help locate the buccal points holographically and precisely to relieve the discomfort of limbs and body in patients with post- stroke insomnia. The theory of the greater triple energizers can help regulate the qi movement of triple energizers to harmonize five viscera and promote yinyang interaction，so that the patients can sleep. Psychosomatics emphasizes the unity of spirit and form； the application of integrative treatment on the holographically-corresponding points of the triple energizers and the synchronous intervention on body and spirit can help patients with post- stroke insomnia improve their emotion and have a nice sleep. Based on the three major theories of buccal acupuncture therapy (holographies， the theory of the greater triple energizers， and psychosomatics)， this paper explored the clinical idea of buccal acupuncture for the treatment of post-stroke insomnia and provided a reference for its clinical treatment.
