Effect of Thumbtack Needle for Subcutaneous Embedding at Auricular Points on Anxiety and Depression of Patients with Breast Tumor During the Waiting Period of Intraopera⁃ tive Frozen Sections
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of thumbtack needle for Subcutaneous Embedding at auricular points on emotional anxiety and depression of patients with breast tumor during the waiting period of intraoperative frozen sections frozen sections. Methods:A total of 80 patients with breast tumor were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given perioperative mental interventions and routine preoperative preparations, and the observation group was additionally treated with thumbtack needle for Subcutaneous Embedding at auricular points based on the treatment of the control group. Before operation and during the waiting period of frozen sections, the heart rates, blood pressure, levels of stress hormones and anxiety were compared between the two groups. Results:Before operation, there was no significant difference being found in the comparisons of heart rates and levels of systolic pressure between the two groups (P>0.05);during the waiting period of frozen sections, the heart rates in the two groups were increased (P<0.05), the level of systolic pressure in the control group was increased (P< 0.05),and the heart rate and level of systolic pressure in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before operation, there was no significant difference being found in the comparisons of levels of blood sugar, epinephrine and cortisol between the two groups (P>0.05). During the waiting period of frozen sections, the levels of blood sugar, epinephrine and cortisol in the two groups were increased (P<0.05),and the above three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before operation, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of HAMA scores between the two groups (P>0.05). During the waiting period of frozen sections, the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) scores in both groups were increased (P<0.05), and the HAMA score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of thumbtack needle for Subcutaneous Embedding at auricular points combined with comprehensive mental interventions during the waiting period of intraoperative frozen sections helps stabilize the blood pressure and level of heart rate of patients with breast tumor, which can not only effectively reduce the levels of stress hormones and mitigate the stress intensity of operation, but also improve the anxiety of patients.
