Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of auricular point pressing combined with wristankle acupuncture for intractable hiccup of qi movement stagnation type. Methods:A total of 60 cases of patients with intractable hiccup of qi movement stagnation type were divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine medicine, and the treatment group was additionally treated with auricular point pressing combined with wrist-ankle acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. Quality of life scores and hiccup symptoms scores were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. The onset time and the disappearance rate of hiccup were compared between the two groups. The clinical effects and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:In the course of this study , 2 cases fell off and 58 cases of experiment were completed , including 29 cases in the treatment group and 29 cases in the control group . The total effective rate was 93.10% in the treatment group, higher than that of 75.86% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of quality of life (diet, sleep, mental state) in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the score of quality of life in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of hiccup symptoms in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The onset time in the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group (P<0.05),and the disappearance rate of hiccup was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). No serious adverse reaction was observed in the two groups. Conclusion: Auricular point pressing combined with wrist-ankle acupuncture has a definite curative effect in the treatment of intractable hiccup of qi movement stagnation type, which can effectively improve the quality of life of patients with high safety.
