Abstract： This paper introduces the clinical experience of Professor WANG Zhanglian in treating refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease. Professor WANG Zhanglian believes that the basic pathogenesis of refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease are stomach failing to harmonize and descend， and liver constraint and spleen deficiency. Therefore， in clinical practice， the basic principles of regulating and harmonizing liver，and clearing and directing counterflow qi downward and spleen are used for treatment based on syndrome differentiation. The “four points for acid treatment” are proposed，namely，Jiuwei (CV 15)，Zhongwan (CV 12)，Tanzhong (CV 17)，and Neiguan (PC 6) points，for acupuncture treatment， with the addition of Quchi (LI 11)， Yemen (TE 2)， Zusanli (ST 36)， Fenglong (ST 40)， Yanglingquan (GB 34)，Taichong (LR 3)，and Neiting (ST 44) points，and then the immediate and long-term effects can be achieved.
