Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of interactive scalp acupuncture in adjuvant therapy of post-stroke lower limb spasm and its effect on the motor function and muscle tone of lower limbs and walking ability. Methods:A total of 95 patients with post- stroke lower limb spasm were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method , with 47 and 48 cases in each group. The control group was given routine rehabilitation training, and the observation group was additionally treated with interactive scalp acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects, muscle tone, motor function of lower limbs, walking ability and levels of neurotrophic factors were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 85.42% in the observation group, higher than that of 68.09% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Composite Spasticity Scale (CSS) and Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) and Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT) in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the time for ten- minute walk was reduced (P<0.05); the scores of CSS and MAS and TUGT in the observation group were less than those in the control group (P< 0.05),and the time for ten-minute walk was less than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the integral electromyographic (iEMG),Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Lower Extremity (FMA-L) scores and levels of neurotrophin-3 (NT-3),nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the distance in 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) was increased (P<0.05);the iEMG,FMA-L scores and levels of NT-3,NCF and BDNF in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the distance in 6MWT was longer than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Interactive scalp acupuncture as an adjuvant therapy has a definite curative effect on post- stroke lower limb spasm, which can significantly improve the muscle tone of patients, improve the motor function and walking ability of lower limbs and enhance the levels of neurotrophic factors.
