Abstract： Objective： To use CiteSpace V software to visually analyze relevant literature， so as to understand the research hotspots and evolution of the application of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) characteristic nursing in the field of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods：CNKI was used as the source database to search the literature related to the TCM characteristic nursing of TCM and diabetic peripheral neuropathy. A total of 386 articles were obtained after screening. The data files were imported into CiteSpace V software，and the authors，organization and keyword were analyzed and visualized. Results： The number of publications of TCM characteristic nursing in the application field of diabetic peripheral neuropathy showed an overall upward trend， but it had declined since 2022. The number of articles published by each author was relatively small， and a stable research team had not yet formed. Among them，core scholars with high publication volume include WANG Kaixin，LUO Tao，WEI Congbing，and ZHAO Lu.The main research institutions in China were China University of Geosciences Hospital and Wuhan Central Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology，and there was still little cooperation among these institutions. Keyword clustering analysis formed 10 representative clusters.According to the analysis results of CiteSpace V software，this study predicts that the use of TCM characteristic nursing may become a future development trend and research hotspot in this field under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine theories such as midnight- noon ebb- flow or after summarizing medication rules. Conclusion： The visual analysis of the literature related to the application of TCM characteristic nursing in the field of diabetic peripheral neuropathy is helpful to initially and intuitively obtain the source of knowledge foundation， main research directions and frontier hotspots in this field， and predict the development trend of this field.
