Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction combined with acupuncture for patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease during convalescence. Methods：A total of 83 cases of patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease during convalescence were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method ， with 40 and 43 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with acupuncture ， and the treatment group was treated with Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction combined with acupuncture. The changes in levels of inflammatory factors [interleukin-6 (IL-6)，tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)， hypersensitive C- reactive protein (hs- CRP)]， hemorheology indexes， Mini- mental State Examination (MMSE) scores，and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores before and after treatment as well as the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 93.0% in the treatment group and 82.5% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of IL-6，TNF-α，and hs-CRP in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the levels of IL-6，TNF-α，and hs-CRP in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，whole blood low-shear viscosity，plasma viscosity，and whole blood high-shear viscosity in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and whole blood low-shear viscosity， plasma viscosity，and whole blood high-shear viscosity in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，MMSE scores were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and NIHSS scores were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)；MMSE score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P＜ 0.05)，and NIHSS score was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion：Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction combined with acupuncture for patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease during convalescence can further improve clinical effect， reduce inflammation and neurological defects， and effectively improve the cognitive function and hemorheological state of patients.
