Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Qingfei Tongfu Decoction combined with Azithromycin for bronchopneumonia of phlegm-heat depressing the lung type. Methods：A total of 104 cases of bronchopneumonia patients of phlegm-heat depressing the lung type were selected and given retrospective analysis on diagnosis and treatment data，and divided into the control group and the study group according to different treatment methods， with 52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Azithromycin，and the study group was additionally treated with Qingfei Tongfu Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The levels of inflammatory factors including tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)，interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-8 (IL-8)，and lung function indexes including 50% low lung volume flow(V 50 )，25% low lung volume flow (V 25 )，percentage of predicted value of FEV 1 (FEV 1 %)，and ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity (FEV 1 /FVC) before and after treatment，and the clinical effects were observed and compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment，the total effective rate was 98.1% in the study group and 78.8% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of TNF-α，IL-1β and IL-8 in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the above indexes in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of lung function indexes including V 50 ，V 25 ，FEV 1 %，and FEV 1 /FVC in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the above indexes in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： Azithromycin and Qingfei Tongfu Decoction for bronchopneumonia of phlegm- heat depressing the lung type can effectively enhance clinical effects， down-regulate the levels of inflammatory factors，and improve lung function.
