Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of modified Xiexin Baohe Decoction combined with western medicine on children subacute eczema of damp-heat type. Methods:A total of 85 children with subacute eczema of damp-heat type were divided into the observation group (43 cases) and the control group (42 cases) according to random number table method. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Xiexin Baohe Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The scores of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes, Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI), itching degree and Children Dermatology Life Quality Index (CDLQI) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical effect, recurrence rate and occurrence of adverse reactions were also compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of TCM syndromes,EASI,itching degree and CDLQI in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). After six months of follow-up,the recurrence rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of modified Xiexin Baohe Decoction combined with western medicine has a definite effect on subacute eczema of damp-heat type, which can improve the symptoms of skin lesions and itching, improve the quality of life, reduce the recurrence rate, and have high safety.
