Clinical Study on Heat-Sensitive Umbilical Moxibustion Combined with Catgut Em⁃ bedment in Point for Simple Obesity of Spleen Deficiency with Dampness Obstruction Type
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of heat-sensitive umbilical moxibustion combined with catgut embedment in point for simple obesity of spleen deficiency with dampness obstruction type. Methods: A total of 60 cases of patients with simple obesity of spleen deficiency with dampness obstruction type were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine catgut embedment in point, and the observation group was additionally treated with heat- sensitive umbilical moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated. Before and after treatment, the changes in body mass, body mass indexes (BMI),waist circumference, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 93.33% in the observation group, higher than that of 86.67% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the body mass, waist circumference, and BMI in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the body mass, waist circumference, and BMI in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the TCM syndrome score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Heat- sensitive umbilical moxibustion combined with catgut embedment in point has a significant curative effect in treating simple obesity of spleen deficiency with dampness obstruction type, and can decrease BMI and improve clinical symptoms, which is safe and reliable.
