Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of governor vessel-unblocking and mind-adjusting needling method for insomnia. Methods:A total of 84 cases of patients with insomnia were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method,with 42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with traditional filiform needling method,and the observation group was additionally treated with governor vessel-unblocking and mind-adjusting needling method based on the treatment of the control group. The scores of Self-Rating Scale of Sleep (SRSS) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI),traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores,and the levels of noradrenaline (NA),5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT),and acetylcholine (ACh) in serum before and after treatment ,as well as clinical effects,were compared between the two groups. Results:treatment,the total effective rate was 95.24% in the observation group,higher than that of 85.71% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,scores of SRSS,PSQI,the level of NA in serum,and TCM syndromes including difficulty in falling asleep, dreaminess and being awake easily, fatigue and lack of strength, dizziness and dizzy vision,palpitations and poor memory,and mental fatigue and poor food intake in the observation group were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels of 5-HT,and ACh in serum were increased (P<0.05). After treatment,scores of SRSS,PSQI,the level of NA in serum, and TCM syndromes including difficulty in falling asleep,dreaminess and being awake easily,fatigue and lack of strength,dizziness and dizzy vision,palpitations and poor memory,and mental fatigue and poor food intake in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05),and the levels of 5-HT,and ACh in serum were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Governor vessel-unblocking and mind-adjusting needling method has a definite curative effect in the treatment of insomnia,which can effectively improve sleep quality and regulate the levels of NA,5-HT,and ACh in serum.
