Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of far- infrared magnetic therapy paste combined with Chinese medicine navel therapy for constipation after stroke of blood deficiency and intestinal dryness type. Methods： A total of 96 cases of patients with constipation after stroke of blood deficiency and intestinal dryness type were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Lactulose Oral Solution，and the observation group was additionally treated with far-infrared magnetic therapy paste combined with Chinese medicine navel therapy based on the treatment of the control group. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores， and the scores of Constipation Severity Scale (CSS) and Gastrointestinal Quality of Life Index (GIQLI) were compared before and after treatment between the two groups； the first defecation time， the clinical effects， and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 93.75% in the observation group，higher than that of 77.08% in the control group (P＜0.05)；the first defecation time was shortened when compared with that control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，TCM syndrome scores and CSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and GIQLI scores were increased (P＜0.05)；the TCM syndrome score and CSS score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05)， and the GIQLI score was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion： Far- infrared magnetic therapy paste combined with Chinese medicine navel therapy has a definite curative in the treatment of constipation after stroke of blood deficiency and intestinal dryness type， which can effectively improve the symptoms of constipation and the quality of life，with good safety.
