Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of Chinese medicine point application on nausea， vomiting，sleep，and quality of life in patients undergoing chemotherapy for solid tumors. Methods：A total of 200 cases of patients who were undergoing chemotherapy for solid tumors were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 100 cases in each group. The control group was treated with the oral administration of Tropisetron，and the observation group was additionally treated with Chinese medicine point application based on the treatment of the control group. After three- week treatment， the times and duration of nausea and vomiting were compared between the two groups； the changes in the scores of Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS)， Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI)， quality of life were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results：After treatment，the times of nausea and vomiting in observation group was fewer than those in the control group，and the duration in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the scores of AIS and PSQI between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment， the scores of AIS and PSQI in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜ 0.05)，and the scores of AIS and PSQI in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the scores of spiritual motivation，psychological endurance，social interaction，family life，and other indexes of quality of life between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment，the above scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and each score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： For patients undergoing chemotherapy for solid tumors，Chinese medicine point application can alleviate their symptoms of nausea and vomiting and improve the quality of sleep and life.
