Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Simiao Decoction assisting treatment for gout complicated with atherosclerosis. Methods:A total of 96 cases of patients with gout complicated with atherosclerosis were divided into the trial group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the trial group was additionally treated with modified Simiao Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores , carotid intima- media thickness (IMT) , erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) , C- reactive protein (CRP),uric acid (UA) and blood lipid indexes before and after treatment and the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate in the trial group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores,VAS scores,IMT,triglyceride (TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),ESR,CRP and UA in the two groups were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the above indexes in the trial group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified Simiao Decoction has a definite effect in the auxiliary treatment of gout complicated with atherosclerosis, which can reduce the levels of blood lipids and UA, and reduce inflammatory reactions.
