Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of superfine acupotomy combined with Haitongpi Decoction on residual low back pain after percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP). Methods:A total of 112 patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture and residual low back pain after PKP were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 56 cases in each group. The control group was given the routine western medicine fore treatment, and the observation group was additionally treated with superfine acupotomy combined with fumigation with Haitongpi Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The two groups were treated for 4 weeks. The scores of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS),Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and Short Form Health Survey- 36 (SF- 36) were compared before and after treatment between the two groups; the clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were evaluated. Results: The total effective rate was 98.21% in the observation group, higher than that of 85.71% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of VAS and ODI in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the SF-36 scores were increased (P<0.05);the scores of VAS and ODI in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the SF- 36 score was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no adverse reaction in both groups. Conclusion: The therapy of superfine acupotomy combined with Haitongpi Decoction has a definite curative effect on residual low back pain after PKP,which can reduce the pain of patients, improve the motor function of the lumbar vertebra, and enhance the quality of life with good safety.
