Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of electro-acupuncture on autophagy factors in serum and neurological function in patients with thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Methods: A total of 104 cases of patients with thrombolysis for AIS were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 52 cases in each group. Five subjects fell out during the research process, and the actual number of completed cases was 99,including 50 cases in the observation group and 49 cases in the control group. The control group received routine treatment according to the guidelines, and the observation group received electro- acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four consecutive weeks. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated. The levels of high- sensitivity C- reactive protein (hs- CRP) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), as well as mRNA of silent information regulator 1 (SIRT1) and autophagy- related gene Beclin- 1 (Beclin1) in the two groups were compared before and after treatment. The neurological function and quality of life were evaluated in the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 94.00% in the observation group, higher than that of 71.43% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of hs-CRP and VEGF in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and mRNA of SIRT1 was increased when compared with that before treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of hs-CRP and VEGF and mRNA of Beclin1 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and mRNA of SIRT1 was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); and the NIHSS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of each item on the Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL) in the two groups were higher than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the physical strength, hand function, emotion, life ability, and social activity scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Electro- acupuncture is helpful to improve the clinical symptoms of AIS patients, improve autophagy and angiogenesis, restore neurological function of patients, and improve the ability of daily living and quality of life.
